How to Upload Files to Your Website Using cPanel File Manager?

cPanel File Manager allows you to easily upload website files directly from your computer to your hosting account.

Follow the Steps Below

1. Log in to your cPanel account.
2. Go to the Files section.
3. Click File Manager.
4. Open your website's document root, usually public_html.
5. Click Upload from the top menu.
6. Click Select File or drag and drop files from your computer.
7. Wait until the upload progress reaches 100%.
8. Return to File Manager and verify that your files have been uploaded successfully.

Uploading a ZIP File

For websites containing many files, it is easier to upload them as a ZIP archive.

1. Compress your website files into a .zip file on your computer.
2. Upload the ZIP file to public_html.
3. Select the uploaded ZIP file.
4. Click Extract.
5. Confirm the extraction directory and click Extract Files.

Important

Make sure your main website file, such as index.php or index.html, is located directly inside the correct document root.

For addon domains and subdomains, upload files to the document root assigned to that specific domain instead of automatically using public_html.
