cPanel Backup Wizard allows you to download a backup of your MySQL database and restore it when required.

How to Backup a MySQL Database

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Go to the Files section.
  3. Click Backup Wizard.
  4. Click Back Up.
  5. Select MySQL Databases.
  6. Select the database you want to back up.
  7. The database backup will be downloaded to your computer.

Keep the downloaded backup file in a safe location.

How to Restore a MySQL Database

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to Files → Backup Wizard.
  3. Click Restore.
  4. Select MySQL Databases.
  5. Click Choose File and select the database backup from your computer.
  6. Click Upload.
  7. Wait for the restoration process to complete.

Important

  • Always create a current database backup before making major changes to your website.
  • Make sure you select the correct database when creating the backup.
  • Restoring a database can overwrite existing database content.
  • For large databases, the restore process may take additional time or require assistance from your hosting provider.
